Wellbeing Week 2025

On Mindful Monday, we had a fantastic day of mindful colouring, yoga with Máire in Cois na hAbhna and meditation. Members of the Student Council visited every classroom and shared our quote of the day: You create your own calm. Jane shared a wonderful timetable and presentation with everyone. We’ve also started adding to our Wellbeing Wall in the school’s foyer.

Shirelle and Michael visited classrooms on Thankful Tuesday and shared the quote for today: Be the reason someone smiles today. We drew what we’re grateful for on beautiful leaves and they will be added to the Gratitude Tree in our school’s foyer. Thanks to Kaitlyn for making the tree! We played ‘Kindness Bingo’ and tried to catch each other being kind. We also made Thank You cards. We sang songs and went for nature walks.

For Wellness Wednesday, Pat and Michael visited classrooms to share the quote ‘Be Kind to your Mind’ and tell classes about activities for the day. We did Wake and Shake dance in the morning, enjoyed active stations led by the Student Council and Active Schools Committee and also took part in an outdoor scavenger hunt to enjoy some fresh air and focus on the world around us.

During ‘Try it Out Thursday’ classes tried new foods including pickles, olives, pineapple and dried bananas. The classes also completed a goal setting activity focused on reaching for the stars and challenging themselves to try new things. Ash and Oak classes did buddy reading together.

‘Fun Friday’ was the final day of our very enjoyable Wellbeing Week! There was music, chalk and bubbles on the yard and the children had a fantastic time dancing and drawing during break time.

Overall, it was an active and funfilled week that allowed us all to focus on the importance of our physical and mental wellbeing and on being thankful for those around us!
