5th and 6th class have has Japan as their main point of focus in SESE this month. The class have covered some great content on Japan’s location and climate and have closely examined volcanoes such Mt Fuji and Sakurajima while pupils have learned a lot about the skills and weaponry of Japan’s Samurai Warriors.
As usual we have looked at our topic of study through an Art lense with each pupil creating Manga/Anime style art and some fabulous Japanese style Cherry Blossom trees of their own. More recently the class took great inspiration from the work or French artist Henri Matisse to create art in the style of his ‘Dancers’ art work.
In the later weeks of the month, pupils have, with a partner, combined their skills to create wonderful display style projects all about Japan.
