We held our annual Active Schools Week from Monday June 15th to Friday June 19th.
The week commenced with a whole school wake and shake activity led by Oak class. Soccer with Dan from Clare Sports Partnership and Active Stations followed for all classes.
Tuesday saw senior classes head swimming at Ennis Leisure Complex while the junior classes headed to the Fairgreen for a Gaelic Football blitz co-ordinated by Eire Óg Inis GDO Tomas Barry.
After another Wake and Shake led by Oak on Wednesday, Claire from Ennis Rockets Basketball Club undertook Basketball coaching with all classes.
On Thursday all classes headed off to Glenina Sports Field for our annual sports day with all children taking part in relay races, rounders, long puck/kick, dodgeball, tag rugby, tug of war and penalty shootout games.
After lunch there was great excitement across the school when a Shannon Ices Ice Cream Van arrived and duly provided all pupils and staff with an ice-cream cone!
Yoga with Máire and a sports day medal presentation during assembly took place on Friday with the week ending in a welter of excitement with the annual pupils vs staff basketball taking place on Friday afternoon.
Many thanks to all staff, coaches, organisations and visitors who helped make it another memorable active schools week.
