“A book is a gift you can open again and again.” Garrison Keillor

At the beginning of the school year, Willow Class were learning about International Day of Democracy. Saorlaith and Jonath, as the elected representatives from Willow, brought a letter to our first Student Council meeting suggesting various actions for us as a group for the year ahead.

One of their suggestions was to replenish our class libraries. We gave all of the class teachers a form to complete with space to write book titles their classes would be interested in reading. There were lots of different book titles suggested: Dog Man, sports books, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Harry Potter and lots more. Through money from the Winter Raffle and another generous donation, we spent a little over €2000 on books for every class. We are excited for the books to arrive this week and we hope that the pupils enjoy reading them!

Thanks again to Willow Class for suggesting this idea to us. We’re delighted to have been able to help!
